The University of Iowa

2017 On Iowa! Volunteer Opportunity

Greetings, Hawkeye Colleagues.

In five weeks, the 2017 On Iowa! program will be in full swing to welcome the Class of 2021 and new transfer students. The University of Iowa will be celebrating the seventh year of On Iowa! in what is embraced as a tradition to assist new undergraduate students in becoming more comfortable with their new environment prior to the first day of classes.

Being an On Iowa! program volunteer is a great way to work with and meet colleagues from across campus and to become more integrated with the University of Iowa community. It's also a tremendous opportunity for newer University employees to learn more about this campus initiative, while networking with students, staff, and faculty.

We still have a variety of volunteer opportunities to fill during this very exciting -- and busy -- time of year.

If you are able to spare two to three hours between Wednesday, August 16 through Sunday, August 20 to assist and interact with members of the Class of 2021 and transfer students, please consider volunteering.

Some of the jobs/areas that need volunteers include:

  • On Iowa! Program Check-In (Wednesday-Friday)
  • Residence Hall Move-In Helpers (Tuesday-Thursday)
  • President's Block Party (Sunday)
