The Global Curriculum Development Award provides up to $3,000 to faculty who create new undergraduate courses, or substantially revise existing ones, in order to integrate international or global perspectives into an undergraduate major. The Big Ten Alliance has renewed a contract with CIBT Visa Services to provide passport and visa services to the University of Iowa and other member institutions.  The agreement with CIBT provides several benefits to UI faculty, staff, and students requiring visas, passport renewals, or other travel document services. Advantages include:

International Student and Scholar Services is pleased to offer a new option for housing reserved for international visiting scholars beginning July, 2019.  One and two bedroom furnished apartments are available on the first floor of Mayflower Hall for reservations from one month up to one year. REMINDER: The University of Iowa Council on Teaching announces the annual Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards and invites nominations for 2018-19.  This award recognizes teaching assistants who have demonstrated outstanding ability as teachers at the University of Iowa. Recipients receive a $1,000 monetary award and a certificate presented at the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards Reception in May of each year.

It is my pleasure to share with you the 2018 annual report from University of Iowa International Programs. The report offers a glimpse into the many ways in which the UI is internationalizing its campus, interacting globally with collaborative partners, broadening the experiences of students as they study and conduct research abroad, creating new knowledge across borders and oceans, and working in partnership with the larger Iowa community so that we all may become more globally aware citizens.
