International Student and Scholar Services is pleased to offer a new option for housing reserved for international visiting scholars beginning July, 2019.  One and two bedroom furnished apartments are available on the first floor of Mayflower Hall for reservations from one month up to one year. REMINDER: The University of Iowa Council on Teaching announces the annual Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards and invites nominations for 2018-19.  This award recognizes teaching assistants who have demonstrated outstanding ability as teachers at the University of Iowa. Recipients receive a $1,000 monetary award and a certificate presented at the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards Reception in May of each year.

It is my pleasure to share with you the 2018 annual report from University of Iowa International Programs. The report offers a glimpse into the many ways in which the UI is internationalizing its campus, interacting globally with collaborative partners, broadening the experiences of students as they study and conduct research abroad, creating new knowledge across borders and oceans, and working in partnership with the larger Iowa community so that we all may become more globally aware citizens.

RE:     Call for Nominations: The Lola Lopes Award for Undergraduate Student Advocacy 

With the Lola Lopes Award for Undergraduate Student Advocacy, the Office of the Provost each year honors a University of Iowa administrator, staff member, or faculty member (in a non-teaching role) who supports undergraduate education and who serves as a strong, effective advocate for undergraduate students.

Effective immediately, the Graduate College and Departments will begin collaborating with University Human Resources Faculty and Staff Disability Services Office (FSDS) to administer all workplace accommodation needs (including new or ongoing health conditions) for graduate assistants.  This change is consistent with the recent change for faculty and staff employees.
