The University of Iowa

World Cafe campus dialogues

The Chief Diversity Office is hosting a series of campus dialogues for faculty, staff, and students to examine campus climate for inclusion and to develop suggestions for addressing areas of concern. Members of the campus community are invited to join one of these sessions.

The half-day conversations will use the World Cafe structure (, which is rooted in a philosophy of conversational leadership. These conversations are the first step in an ongoing process of assessment, communication, planning, and implementation of inclusion efforts.

Cafes are from 8:00am-1:30pm on Friday October 16, Saturday October 24 (for students), and Friday October 30. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Because space in each session is limited, you should RSVP for all dates you can attend. If registering for the Friday October 16 session, please do so by October 9.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Chief Diversity Office in advance at or 319-353-2388.
